Descriptions

Short

Fly a stealth attack helicopter low through real terrain. Eight theatres built from real elevation and map data, a war that runs on its own clock in every one, three helicopters with modelled cockpits, flight-stick and HOTAS support, night, storms and co-op for two.

Long

Fly low and stay hidden. Terrain Mask puts you in a stealth attack helicopter over real ground: keep a ridge between you and the radar, pop up, fire, and drop back below the skyline. Every map is built from real elevation, sea-floor, land-cover and road and building data, at full scale, with ports, oil terminals, towns and islands where they really are.

Eight theatres. The base game covers the Strait of Hormuz (Bandar Abbas, Qeshm, Hormuz and Larak islands) and Kharg Island with its oil export terminal. Six theatre packs add the Florida Straits, the Venezuelan coast, Korea's east coast, the Baltic at Narva, the Suwalki Gap and the Taiwan Strait, each with its own campaign and its own war.

A war on its own clock. Next to the campaigns, every theatre runs a war: brigades, ferries, air strikes and supply, fought hour by hour on the real map. Every six hours of war time you are offered sorties against what has been seen: columns on the road, boats ferrying reserves, bridges and depots, beachheads to defend, downed pilots to rescue. What you destroy is gone from the war, and your squadron's pilots earn ranks and fly as your wingmen.

Three helicopters. Fly the RAH-66 Comanche stealth scout-attack helicopter, a heavy attack helicopter with a gunner, or a naval attack helicopter with a copilot, each with a modelled cockpit, a head-up display and three multifunction screens.

Day, night and weather. Golden hour, dusk and nights with moon phases and lit towns; rain squalls, thunderstorms with lightning and thunder, and dust-storm fronts you can watch arriving. Night-vision goggles and a thermal sight are part of the cockpit.

Your controls. Keyboard and mouse, an Xbox controller, or a flight stick, HOTAS, collective lever and rudder pedals, up to four devices at once, with full rebinding and axis tuning. Fly alone, with AI wingmen, or online with a friend in co-op for two.

Factions and forces in the game are fictional. Weapon, sensor and AI values are tuned for play, not simulations of real systems.
